Gulfstream G150

Gulfstream G150

The G150 is a mid-sized business jet built in Israel by IAI (Israel Aircraft Industries) for Gulfstream. Introduced in 2005, it traces its heritage all the way back to the IAI Astra business jets of the 1980s. There are a few visual cues that set the G150 apart from other Gulfstream jets and its predecessor, the Astra SPX : the horizontal stabilizer is at the base of the tail and the fuselage has 5 windows and winglets on the wings.

The original 1125 Astra model dates back to 1984. The final Astra variant was sold from 1994 to 2001 when Gulfstream acquired Galaxy Aerospace, the company that held the type certificate for the Astra, and it was simply renamed the G100. The G150 replaced it in 2005 with the most noticeable change being a larger, 8 passenger fuselage. The cabin has fully modern avionics and amenities. The photo above is the only picture of a G150 that I have; this paint scheme was custom designed for its owner.

Shape is important in Gulfstream windows, too. In the G150, 11 large, oval windows welcome plentiful natural light and create a sense of spaciousness.
